The Lee Physician Hospital Organization was formed during 1993
as a partnership between local community physicians and Lee
Memorial Health System in order to respond to market demands for
managed care products. The Lee PHO entered into its first
managed care contract in January of 1994 and has since expanded
to participate in over 20 arrangements for both commercial and
worker’s comp products. These contracts provide many subscribers
with access to the high quality physician, hospital, and
ancillary services of the Lee PHO.Customer Service
Obtaining health care services in a managed care environment can
be a confusing experience for patients who may not be familiar
with the details of their health plan. Over the years, the Lee
PHO has provided customer service to physician offices,
ancillary providers, hospital facilities, and most importantly,
the patient, to assist with understanding access and payment
issues. This high quality service is provided by our highly
experienced team who represent collectively over 30 years of
health and business related experience.
Local Network Services
As many local businesses seek health care benefits for their
employees, the Lee PHO continues to be a full-service local
network for the provision of medical services. During
2004, the presence of the Lee PHO was expanded through the
addition of new physicians in growing areas of Lee County. The
Lee PHO has
continued its practice of extending preferred rates to those
businesses in our local market who wish to access our services
directly and continue to provide consistent high-quality
customer services to these accounts.
Health Plan Partnerships
For many national or regional networks and insurers, the
prospect of creating a network in multiple geographic markets
can be a monumental task. The Lee PHO is able to offer a local
network to these organizations that provides them with
comprehensive services through a single contract. These network
linkages provide many self-funded and fully insured programs to
employer groups, individuals, and state benefit recipients.
